Hashem is close to all who call upon Him, who call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18 Note this verse uses the Tetragrammaton, "the Father," in Christian theology. The Hebrew Bible tells us that Hashem is accessible and that we need no intermediary. No intermediary. No man-god. No human sacrifice. No vicarious atonement. No blood drinking. I believe this miracle also shows that Jesus is God our Creator........Just as Colossians 1 says

I too do not believe in the "rapture" as it is commonly understood these days. I believe we meet Him (Christ) in the air, only to immediatly return to earth. As people went out to meet visitors in OT and NT times. I believe Revelation is a recapitulation of the Book of Exodus, and follows a similiar format, tenor, etc. I'm definitely a "tribulation guy," as I look around. Even first John declared that the Spirit of AntiChrist is already active. According to the fighting between Israel, Hezzbullaah, Hamas etc now, we may see Is. 17, the destruction of Damascus soon, in our time.

Jesus was a crystal healer

The reason for the transfiguration was to strengthen the disciples for the road ahead, the crucifixion. The symbolic meaning was they were led up the mountain by Jesus. Encounters with God occur at the summit of the mountain. There the veil is lifted and they have a glimpse of the Divine. But the encounter with God doesnt stop there...they are called to mission for the salvific purpose of God's people. Jesus then leads them down the mountain to the road ahead. While Peter before declared "this must not happen..." The transfiguration allows them to see that God's plan is at work...."listen to Him...".....

I had understood this parable to be about repentence; that is, anyone who was truly repentant of his or her sins, could receive the mercy of God. That anyone who was truly repentant could receive Christ and Salvation in his or her life, even in their last moments, and be admitted to the Kingdom of Heaven - like the repentant thief, whom Christ assured He would meet in Paradise that day. It would not matter if they never went to Church a day in their lives prior to that, or had been wicked; and those who had been church-goers and had been repentant all their lives, could neither complain, nor prevent the late-comers from entering the Kingdom of Heaven. That is how I understood it.

I interpreted this parable somewhat different than the distinction between jew and gentiles. This video came up on my homepage so I listened to this teaching. Is it possible that Christ was saying that those who come to Him later in their life and place their faith in Him and do good works will receive the same reward (Heaven) as those who have had faith in Him since their youth and have done good works there whole life? If you seek the Lord, ask for forgiveness of sins, and place your faith in Him whether you are 8 years old or 80, He is trustworthy and merciful to those who come to Him regardless of age.
